The Summit is accessible with three entry points. The Summit offers access via Interstate 40 and Highway 66, through Townsend, Tennessee, on Highway 321, and from US 441.

The Summit is located off Interstate 40 between Knoxville, Tennessee, and Asheville, North Carolina. The Summit is geographically located approximately 35 miles east of Knoxville, Tennessee, and 60 miles west of Asheville, North Carolina.
